Fellowship Class: The Fellowship Class, lead by Tom Hardy, is a traditional discussion class, generally following a video/study guide format. The class meets in the 2nd classroom in the right hand hall way of the activity center.

The John Wesley Class: Barbara Hudson's John Wesley Class uses an informal discussion format, typically following a book/study guide. This class meets in the Activities Building, in the far right-hand corner.

Nomad Class: This class, under the direction of Tom Koch, is comprised of informal discussions, with content changing as the class determines. The third door on the right in the Activities Building is its location.

Seekers Class: The Seekers, led by George Barnette, is an academically oriented Sunday School class which explores what we believe, where those beliefs come from, and how they compare to the beliefs of others. Class format includes a presentation, followed by a discussion. The third room on the right in the Church Building is where this class can be found.

CHILDREN & YOUTH CLASSES:

Nursery: Infants & Toddlers; Attendant:  Irma Sanchez

Preschool: Ages 3, 4 & 5

Elementary I: 1^st - 2^nd Grade

Elementary II: 3^rd - 5th Grade

Tweens: 6^th, 7^th – 8^th Grade. 

Preschool, elementary, and tweens follow the program, Live Big, an interactive curriculum that uses a DVD as a tool for learning. It also comes with a notebook of age appropriate activities that the children and youth can enjoy. The Tweens meet in the Activities Building, far room on left, adjoining main auditorium, and are taught by youth director, LeAndy Pletcher." . The Nursery is downstairs at the far end of the hallway in the Church Building. The Preschool and Elementary Classes meet upstairs of the Church Building.

High School: 9^th – 12^th Grade.  The High School Class, is in the development stage. The High School Class meets in the Activities Building in the small room on the left in the front.

“THE WINNER’S CIRCLE” YOUTH PROGRAM: Come Join Winning Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7 pm, First United Methodist Church Activities Building, ages 6th grade through 12th grade. Come and enjoy game time, Bible study and dinner.

MOTHER'S OF YOUNG CHILDREN Creative Movement Class: Music, story, activity & snack time meets every Thursday from 9 am - 11 am in the JC First United Methodist Church Activity Center. Designed for mothers (or nannies) & Children - newborn to 4 years old. Please bring a sippie cup for the kids. No charge & all are welcome! For details about the meeting, call JoAnn Routh, 868-7414.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2008:
"Guess who took over the worship service at Johnson City's First United Methodist Church last Sunday morning! It was a fired up and energetic bunch of kids from the Vacation Bible School, who spent the week learning about faith and science, then performed and sang to show their parents and the church members what they had discovered. Not even Pastor Sid Spiller was exempt from the takeover. "It's my church service," Spiller lamented, "and they only let me have 13 minutes of  it!" But, he said, it was worth it. The VBS set an attendance record  with 90 children involved, and almost as many adults to work with them. As the new pastor, it was Spiller's first exposure to Johnson City's kids and families, and the energy and support that comes with them. "The only thing I can say," he concluded, "is wow!"  The Apostle Paul said “I know of no greater joy than to hear of my children standing firm in the truth”.  It is our responsibility as a congregation to ensure that this occurs, and the only way it can happen is through children’s programming, which is impossible without adult volunteers.  We need  YOU….  Please consider helping us……………
