CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES (updated February, 2010) Sunday School for All Ages, 9:45-10:35 Sunday Mornings. Each class selects their current study materials. This flexibility allows for the focus to be what each class feels will best foster their Christian journey. SUNDAY MORNING CHRISTIAN EDUCATION CLASSES FOR ADULTS: (Seekers, Wesley, Nomad, and Friendship classes meet in Wesley Activity Center. Fellowship Class meets in classrooms of the Sanctuary building.)
George Barnette's Seekers Class: This class has been studying the transition of Christianity from a Jewish sect to an independent religion. A study of the book of Daniel will begin March 21. Seekers meet in the second classroom on the right in the Activity Center.
Barbara Hudson's John Wesley Class: The class is beginning a study if Philip Yancey's new book - A Skeptic's Guide to Faith. Synopsis: Philip Yancey believes we are missing the supernatural hidden in everyday life. In this 2004 Christianity Today Book Award of Merit winner he investigates the natural world and discovers the supernatural hiding in plain view. Nature and super nature are not two separate worlds, but different expressions of the same reality. To encounter the world as a whole, we need a more supernatural awareness of the natural world. He promises that the grace-filled result will be a life of beauty, purpose, freedom, and faith. Join this class in the third classroom on the right in the Activity center. Tom Koch's Nomads Class: This class began a new study on Sunday, February 7th. The class utilizes the study series Fearless by Max Lucado. The focus of this study is on fear, loosening your grip on fear, and living in the abundant freedom Jesus promises his followers. The first classroom on the right in the Activity Center houses the Nomads. Mickey Little's Friendship Class: On February 14th, this class began a new series entitled The Holy Bible -- Beyond Words. This DVD study, by Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church, reveals how the Bible is so much more than just a collection of old books--it is life-giving. Through this revelatory eight-part series, your perspective on what the Bible is and how you should read it will be completely transformed. You will gain a new excitement and hunger for the Word of God like never before! This class meets in the classroom on the left of the Activity center. Bro. Bill Wiemers' Fellowship Class: Visit this class in the Fellowship Hall of the Sanctuary building. The class is studying the Gospel of John using the Bible as the study guide. The class reads each verse, discusses it, and reflects on what it means for class members and how it influences our lives as Christians. Registration for Vacation Bible School 2010: Click for pdf Form The Apostle Paul said "I know of no greater joy than to hear of my children standing firm in the truth". It is our responsibility as a congregation to ensure that this occurs, and the only way it can happen is through children's programming, which is impossible without adult volunteers. We need You!
