WALKS
| The Walk to Emmaus |
The Walk to Emmaus is an international movement. Its purpose is to develop and strengthen lay people working in the local church and to encourage more church members to become actively involved in the lay ministry of the church. This is a non-denominational endeavor. Anyone who is a member of a local church, has a desire to strengthen their spiritual life, may have some unanswered questions about their faith, understands that being a Christian requires some responsibility on their part, and are willing to dedicate their everyday lives to God are good candidates for the Emmaus experience..
The Walk is a 72-hour experience of personal Christian formation and/or renewal event. During this time you are at this experience, you will enjoy singing, learning, laughing, praying and worshiping as you participate with a small group of friends in Christ. For many people, this is a life-changing experience as they experience anew or for the very first time the love of God in a personal way.
The First United Methodist Church of Johnson City is a member of the Solid Rock Emmaus Fourth Day Community. This group includes several Blanco county churches. This group meets on the third Monday of each month at the various member churches. For more information on the Gathering, please contact our church office during office hours (830-868-7414)
